ICC CWC 2023: PAK vs NED 2nd Match Head-to-Head Records, Key Players, Match Preview, Fantasy Team and Betting Tips
The ICC Men’s CWC 2023 is going to have its 2nd match between Pakistan and the Netherlands. The arch-rivals of India would be willing to open their winning account with a thumping win. Pakistan were out of the tournament in the ICC CWC 2019 and couldn’t make it into the semi-finals stage. On the other hand, the Netherlands couldn’t even qualify for the World Cup in 2019 and hence they would be pretty satisfied to make it this time.
Though it could be a one-sided affair you never know what the weak teams could do. We all remember the Dutch eliminated South Africa in the T20 World Cup 2022. ICC CWC 2023 PAK vs NED Match Details
This is the 2nd match of the ICC Men’s CWC 2023 which will be played on 6th Oct at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The match will begin at 2 PM IST.
Pitch Report
The venue did not host too many International matches. The pitch seems to be a flat surface where batsmen can enjoy batting and we can expect close to 300 runs score. The pacers might not get too much help from it but the spinners will get assistance as the match progresses. This is the same venue where Sachin Tendulkar smashed 175 runs against Australia in an ODI match.

ICC CWC 2023 PAK vs NED Match Preview
Team Pakistan
Pakistan were currently ranked the number 1 ODI team in the ICC rankings before India displaced them to second place. They are in anguish after their embarrassing exit from the recently concluded Asia Cup 2023. A lot of questions to answer for the Pakistan captain Babar Azam and the selectors about the form and performance in the Asia Cup 2023. Still, they decided to retain out-of-the-form players in the squad announced. They were jolted by the fact that one of their key bowlers Naseem Shah is ruled out of the World Cup due to injury and Hasan Ali, who was a part of the last World Cup, has replaced him.
Shadab Khan and Fakhar Zaman retained their spots even after their poor performances in recent times. Some new young faces like Abdullah Shafique, Usama Mir, Saud Shakeel, Salman Ali Agha, Usama Mir and Mohammed Wasim Jnr have made it to the squad. Their main concern is their form which has to come alive before the World Cup begins.
Talking about the form, the team looks in a bit of bad shape. The middle order looks unsettled and only Iftikhar Ahmed and Mohammed Rizwan are rescuers.
The spin doesn’t look promising and the inclusion of Usama Mir might change things for them. Babar Azam, the skipper is also trying to find some rhythm after a poor performance in the Asia Cup 2023. Mohammed Wasim Jnr lacks experience in bowling and Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf need to do most of the wicket-taking job.
Team Netherlands
The Dutch would be delighted to qualify for this year’s World Cup. They performed brilliantly in the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers 2023 and played the final against Sri Lanka. Both finalists Sri Lanka and the Netherlands were through to qualify as the last two teams will make their way to India to play this mega event. They have also announced their 15-member squad and a couple of young faces have been added. Besides this, they have retained almost all the players who have been part of the team for many years. The talented wicketkeeper-batsman Scott Edwards will lead the team.
The veteran Roelof Van der Merwe and Max O’Dowd are part of the squad. Vikramjit Singh is a fine opener. Bas de Leede is a promising all-rounder. Colin Ackermann and Wesley Barresi are the experienced campaigners. A young bright star Teja Nidamanaru would be a key player in the middle order. Paul van Meekeren, Logan van Beek, Ryan Klein and Aryan Dutt will be handling the bowling department.
They have worked really hard to qualify for this edition of the World Cup. The ICC CWC Qualifiers 2023 was the tournament to initiate the process. Out of 10 competing teams, only two teams were supposed to qualify. The Dutch had some historic moments to cherish when they beat Ireland in a close thriller. The best moment was when they eliminated West Indies by winning the Super Over. In the end, both Sri Lanka and the Dutch side advanced to the final. Therefore, the team has shown great spirit and they will give their 100% in this match.
